VQ to launch new 24 hour restaurant and bar in London’s Dorestt City Hotel
New York may be known as the city that doesn’t sleep, but London is quickly giving it a run for its money and the capital’s night-time economy is worth an annual £26.3bn, supporting one in eight jobs. And now there’s one more addition to the late-night options in the city’s Aldgate area with the launch of VQ at the new Dorsett City Hotel: a 24 hour restaurant and bar on the ground floor of the hotel that opens its doors on the 2nd July 2017.
The launch is the latest venture for restaurant group VQ, which already has three sites in the capital (Chelsea, Bloomsbury, Notting Hill) and is planning to open 10 late night/24 hour sites over the next 3 years.
VQ’s menu at Dorsett City Hotel offers comfort food and traditional classics in a relaxed setting with a fresh, seasonal approach. The all-day menu boasts enticing small dishes like Halloumi Fries with tzatziki and Merguez Sausages with harissa and aioli dips, along with a range of pastas, burgers, salads and classics like Beer Battered Haddock, Chicken Kiev or BBQ Ribs. There’s a tempting selection of traditional British puddings to finish, including a warm Sticky Toffee Pudding and a crowd-pleasing Apple Crumble & Custard.
And in recognition of the city’s love affair with breakfast, diners will be able to order from a 24 hour breakfast menu, enjoying classics like Eggs Benedict and Buttermilk Pancakes, complete with all the trimmings such as fruit, maple syrup and ice cream.
Designed by Busby Webb, you can expect the 60 cover restaurant and 30 cover bar to have the clean lines and angled looks of sister sites in Notting Hill, Chelsea and Bloomsbury. Comfort is just as important as looks, so the decor will feature warm wood paneling and guests can recline in snug leather banquettes and booths into the wee hours. The aesthetic can be described as stylish, contemporary, functional and relaxed so guests feel at home, whatever the hour. There will also be outside seating for 60.
With the VQ at Dorsett City Hotel now joining the group’s family of London restaurants, which already serve over 35,000 customers each month, this is the latest push for the brand as it aims to reinvigorate the capital’s night-time offering and become a leading all-day dining player.
