Catch a Tiger by the tail this September!

mummys-tarka-dahl-naan-and-temple-rice-2-1If you’re wild about whisky and crazy about curry then Cornish Tiger has a secret it can’t wait to share with you. The back room of this celebrated restaurant has become a pop up whisky/curry house called Tiger Dram. It is the perfect place to indulge a taste for the very best curry dishes alongside an impressive array of artisan whiskies.

But you’ll have to catch the Tiger first! With its own address of ¾ Battersea Rise, Tiger Dram can only be accessed via a secret entrance to the back of Cornish Tiger. And even after you manage to find the right way in you have to rub the Buddha’s belly before you are granted access.

Once inside you will find yourself in a world that will both enflame and reinvigorate your senses, starting with the delicious food. Tiger Dram has a unique range of Indian tapas dishes to serve you, small plates of deconstructed curry the likes of which you may never have seen, or tasted, before! There are also unashamedly sexy sharing plates to start with; dishes that include specially sourced meats such as goat and venison.

When it comes to the mains, there is a choice of five curry options that will always be there for you to opt for, all made with the finest and freshest ingredients: vegetable, lamb, chicken, fish and the traditional Indian favourite keema. One thing that will change, however, is the naan, with Tiger Dram offering a different special naan every month. You can look forward to such tasty and unique takes on the naan as elegant stilton and truffle or flavoursome peshwari.

You’re going to need something to wash all that down with of course, and that’s where the whisky comes in. Tiger Dram’s bespoke placemat menus provide all the tips you need to select the best whisky to accompany your meal. Each whisky available has its own distinctive character and comes from the very best producers in the country. If you feel more in the mood for something a little softer, then there is also a selection of craft ales that can be matched to your meal as well. And if you fancy something sweet after all that, you have the option of several dreamy desserts, from ice-cream and sorbet to cheesecakes and rice pudding.

Open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 6pm to 11pm, Tiger Dram seats 25 diners and does not accept bookings. Every evening there will be a chance for their guests to get lucky with diners that find themselves seated next to a lucky little Buddha given the chance to roll some dice… Throw two sixes and Tiger Dram will cover your bill (excluding drinks)!

Tiger Dram is the latest brainchild of Cornish Tiger proprietor and award-winning film writer and producer Zia Trench. Cornish Tiger itself has picked up plaudits for giving Londoners the chance to dine on sophisticated, ethically sourced cuisine with first-class service in a relaxed setting and now her new project gives her the chance to display her passion for both curry and whisky.

Come and earn your stripes with Tiger Dram!
