Spotlight On: ARCHIPELAGO
Eating grub is one of the latest food trends and ARCHIPELAGO were onto it before anyone else.
After 13 wonderful years in Whitfield St, Fitzrovia, ARCHIPELAGO has moved to larger premises at 53 Cleveland Street, W1T 4JJ. The new site is spread over 2 floors and includes a private room seating up to 50 Guests.
With a new and exciting menu, reaching further to “Explore the Exotic”, Chef Daniel Creedon has created a menu working with techniques such as smoking, pickling and drying to infuse full textures and flavours in such exotic dishes as bison, kangaroo, crocodile and python alongside the classic chicken, fish and lamb and inventive vegetarian options. There is also an increased use of edible bugs like crickets, locusts, meal worms and scorpions that we are seeing trending. The UN has recently released a report stating that the Western World needs to start embracing these alternative sources of protein which are common place in the Far East and South America.
ARCHIPELAGO has been at the forefront of using these ingredients since 2000 and is acknowledged as “London’s premier spot for eclectic dining” (METRO)
The lunchtime tasting platter offers you spicy crocodile, succulent kangaroo, jerked alpaca, Mexican pork belly and a delicious Thai salad. For the really adventurous, you can add bugs to your salad for extra crunchiness.
